Brilliant Beast (EP Release)
Brilliant Beast (EP Release)
Fronted by sibling songwriters Hannah and Jordan Porter (guitars, vocals), Brilliant Beast has been pounding out furious noise since their debut in 2013. Joined by Ronnie Lee (bass) and Eric Whalen (drums), the band blends elements of shoegaze, punk, krautrock and pop to create uniquely fuzzed-out and melodically pulsing rock and roll.

Brilliant Beast will release the new EP Jelly on July 7, 2017. Recorded in late 2016 at Blue Bell Knoll by Neil Weir as a follow up to the 2015 LP Dissolve, the new EP offers up five songs that further expand the band's embrace of the warm depths of lush guitars, creamy riffs, and spacious layers of vocals.

Loud Sun
Loud Sun
Andrew Jansen (born 1984, Madison, WI) is an American musician who has been self-releasing music since the year 2000. Blending genres such as rock, folk, psychedelic, punk and elements of electronic music he has played in numerous bands in the Upper Midwest and San Francisco Bay Area often in DIY spaces.
His most recent effort Loud Sun was written and self-recorded in Oakland, CA over a two-year period. The album "Loud" is largely comprised of melodic dream pop with some experimental, garage, and 60's influences. It is set to be released on MJ MJ in early September.
Finesse
Finesse
Finesse is a pop duo inspired by 1982, created for 2017. Members Patrick Donohoe (CLAPS, Principality) and Jeff Cornell (Posh Lost fka Gloss, Pale Spectre) recall memories of the forward-looking, second wave of synth pop. They function as what Simon Reynolds describes as the “Composer-operator and the Singer-lyricist”, or the “Fire-and-Ice” combo. Donohoe’s themes of longing, memory, and aspiration recall Pet Shop Boys, George Michael, and Naked Eyes. Underneath Donohoe’s vocal leaps and bounds are Cornell’s glistening, mirror ball arrangements, combining electronic rigidity with jaunting melodies. This creates a synthetic-soul landscape that is both instantly recognizable and unique to the duo’s chemistry.
